Dan Mayer
Head Coach
Dan grew up in Central New York where he was first exposed to lacrosse in grade school. He attended perennial lacrosse power Fayetteville-Manlius High School led by Hall of Fame coach, Tom Hall. After graduating in 1983, Dan played Division III lacrosse at Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, graduating in 1987. He began volunteering as a coach for youth sports while working in Connecticut from 1988 to 1991. Dan returned to the playing field for the University of Illinois club team while attending graduate school from 1992-1994.
Since moving to Florida in 1996 Dan has been involved in coaching a wide variety of youth sports and began coaching high school lacrosse in 2009 as an assistant with Clearwater Youth Lacrosse program.
Dan lives in Palm Harbor with his wife Lauren and their 6 children, Nate (a junior at PHUHS), Elle (a freshman at PHUHS), Katherine, Jon, Ben and Gabe.
Joe Malyk
Assistant Coach
Joe is originally from Long Island, NY and began playing lacrosse for the Huntington Boys Club during his middle school years. He then attended St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, NY where he graduated in 1985. Joe then went on to play Division I lacrosse for Siena College in Loudonville, NY (outside of Albany) and club lacrosse for the University of Jacksonville. All told, Coach Malyk has over 12 years of experience playing organized lacrosse at both midfield and attack. Coach Malyk resides in Palm Harbor, FL.
TJ Dugan
Assistant Coach
TJ Dugan is originally from Fairfield County, CT where he played high school lacrosse at Barlow High School in Redding, CT, graduating in 2006. TJ then went on to Muhlenburg College in Allentown, PA where he played long-pole defense for the Mules. TJ transferred out of Muhlenburg to be closer to family and is now enrolled at the University of South Florida where he is studying political science.
